~~Retro Vintage Parker Knoll Statesman Swivel Egg Chair~~ A wonderful retro vintage Parker Knoll statesman egg chair 1960's These chairs were made by Parker Knoll in the mid to late 60’s and were very innovative in that they are constructed using molded polystyrene and wood, which forms a very strong and comfortable chair. The bases are a swivel and tilt mechanism with Aframosia feet. Aframosia was used at the time as a Teak substitute because Teak had become very expensive, nowadays Aframosia is a very expensive and endangered timber. Beautiful original floral upholstory Deep buttoned headrest and cushion Parker Knoll label to under cushion (see photo) Swing and tilt functions. Wondefully comfortable Measures approx Height 100 cms Width 80 cms Depth 80 cms Seat Height 45 cms In excellent original condition, no rips or tears to fabric etc.... The egg chair is really a Peice of art and is unique in its own beauty. Ideal as contemporary home furniture, modern office furniture or living room furniture
